What happens when you call
When you call, we ask what happened, where and when, and whether you’ve filed a claim. Then we schedule a visit and start documenting.
From there, a claim with United usually follows the same steps. With your permission, we can contact your insurance company and adjuster along the way.
- Inspection. We assess the affected areas, take photos and record moisture readings.
- Estimate. We explain the proposed work and prepare an estimate for you and your carrier.
- Work authorization. You sign an authorization so we can begin.
- Mitigation. We remove the water, set up drying and keep records as the work happens.
- Certificate of satisfaction. When the work is done, you confirm it’s complete.
The records we keep
From the first visit, we record photos, moisture readings and notes on affected materials, then track drying until readings show they’re dry.
Photos are taken before, during and after the work. Moisture readings map where the water went, including inside walls and under flooring. Drying records show which equipment ran, where and for how long. You get copies, and so does your adjuster.
Working with your adjuster
We share our photos, readings and drying records with your adjuster and keep you informed. Your adjuster and carrier make the coverage decisions.
Sometimes an adjuster can’t come out right away. Many policies ask you to take reasonable steps to prevent further damage, so check with your carrier about starting water removal before the adjuster’s visit. Our records show what we found and what we did.
Choosing your restoration company
Your insurer may suggest a company from its own program, but you can generally choose who works on your home. Your policy terms still apply.
If you’re unsure, ask your carrier. Choosing a local company you can reach directly is your call to make.
The paperwork you’ll sign
Before work starts, you sign a work authorization so we can begin. When the work is done, a certificate of satisfaction confirms it’s complete.
We’ll walk you through both before you sign, and you can ask questions at any point.
Your electric bill during drying
Drying equipment runs around the clock and can raise your electric bill. Keep your bills and ask your adjuster whether your policy covers it.
Our drying records list the equipment that ran and for how long, which helps if your carrier asks.
What we won’t promise
We can’t promise what your policy will cover. Coverage decisions belong to your insurance carrier, and every policy is different.
What we can do is document the loss clearly, explain the process and answer your questions along the way. Call us at (405) 519-3568 any time, day or night.
